Welcome to ABC-PATTERNS !!!
® TM
ABC-PATTERNS is a pattern-collection for use with the Amiga Workbench.
ABC-PATTERNS requires Workbench 2.0 or higher!
The patterns are designed for ...
- a proportional ScreenMode (640x512, for example) with square pixels
- an 8-color Workbench Screen (3 bitplanes)
- colors similar to the colors of "MagicWB" (© 1993 by Martin Huttenloher)
I prefer a more intensive blue (color 3) and red (color 7). You can see
my Workbench colors by double-clicking "ABC-Colors".
For Workbench 3.x ...
You can copy your favorite ABC-PATTERNS to your Workbench-Disk and select
them as backgrounds for the Workbench Screen & Windows in the programme
WBPattern. It is located in the Prefs-Drawer of Workbench 3.x.
For Workbench 2.x ...
Additional to the above instructions, Workbench 2.x users have to
- install `NickPrefs` (© by Nicola Salmoria)
- re-color the patterns with a paint program (like "DPaint") to the
Workbench-Colors because of the different behaviour of Workbench 2.x.
Just choose a proportional ScreenMode, import the Workbench-colors,
load the pattern as a BRUSH and re-color it. Then save the brush
with a new name.
PATTERNS:
~~~~~~~~~
The name "ABC-PATTERNS" is a hint on the filenames of the patterns:
The A-Series has a plain background.
The B-Series has a rough background.
The C-Series has a wavy background.
I created four types of patterns:
The AmigaAmiga-Patterns consist of two Amiga plates,
the Checkmark- Patterns consist of checkmarks (the famous Amiga symbol),
the AmigaCheck-Patterns is a mixture of both and
the AmigaBig - Patterns is my favourite one, it has a special big format.
The number in the filename is the number of the plate-pattern. Some files
have an additional "B", which corresponds to the brown Amiga letters.
I hope this helps you in finding your favourite patterns.
I also included the background patterns Ground.rough and Ground.wavy.
NOT distribute ABC-PATTERNS.
You are allowed to convert your favourite patterns for a non-proportional
on your Monitor, but please don`t include them into the package.
You are NOT allowed to use ABC-PATTERNS or any part of it for any other
purpose than that one mentioned above, this also includes the images the
patterns consist of.
MY REQUEST:
~~~~~~~~~~~
Because I believe it is ridiculous to require any amount of money for
the right to use one or two patterns, I decided to release this package
as FREEWARE!
I would be happy to receive any mail considering ABC-PATTERNS because I
want to know whether anyone likes them, or not.
If you like some of the patterns, please write me which ones you prefer,
so I can include a top 10 list in the next release.
If you think they are ugly or useless, please tell me why you think so.
MY ADDRESS:
~~~~~~~~~~~
If you have any comments, hints or questions or some requests for the next
release, please write to the following adresses.
You can reach me through my InterNet-email-adress:
knoll@namu01.gwdg.de [Subject: ABC-Patterns]
